Changed Blog Name to "Barsh Bits"

This morning I changed my blog name to "Barsh Bits."  The name I launched it with (Pragmatic VC) was too "narrow" and limiting so I thought I would broaden the title as it lets me use the same blog name no matter what I am doing in my career.

The "Bits" of "Barsh Bits" is a double entendre.

1. The first meaning of bits is as in "small chucks" -- a la chunks of information found in a blog post.
2. The second meaning is related to my software and computer background.  It's taken from "computer bits."  Extra prize points if you know what the word "BIT" (which is actually an acronym) means in computer technology.  What is the etymology of the word?  If you know the answer, post it in the comments.  If you had to "Google" or use Wikipedia to find the answer, be fair and note that in your comment as well! ;-)
